Chimpanzee
Pan troglodytes

The Common Chimpanzee is a very diverse creature.  Chimps will eat fruit, leaves, flowers, seeds and animal prey.  They are known for eating termites and baby baboons.  They are terrestrial and walk on their knuckles.  They climb and suspend from trees, having limited brachiation.  Occasionally, chimps will stand bipedally.  These apes live in fission-fusion communities where males patrol the outer perimeter of their territory.  Females are solitary with males traveling in groups.  Females emigrate, males do not.  Chimpanzees have domonstrated that they have culture, teaching one another things from one generation to the next.  Because of chimpanzees, we have to keep changing the definition of what it is to be human.
